About DiaKhemTM
DiaKhemTM Technologies LLC, a Michigan-based company, is a partnership between DiazemTM Corporation of Midland, Michigan, and Chemtura Corporation of Middlebury, Connecticut. DiaKhem was established to market and commercialize technology using silicon chemistry, surface science and polymer chemistry to create separation process technologies targeted at mining and environmental remediation industries.
DiaKhem Corporation has developed patented adsorption resins ideally suited for the recovery of precious metals from mine tailings and industrial waste streams. The resin's unique selectivity and robustness allow it to be used in basic cyanide leaching processes as well as acidic aqua regia leacheates.
DiaKhem resins are currently being used to address water purification and filtration issues specific to the mining industry through DiaKhem Technologies, LLC, a joint venture with Chemtura Corporation. Environmental remediation processes present many challenges and DiaKhem's process technologies offer a perfect solution fit.
DiaKhem's unique family of proprietary/patented surface-modification technologies is the cornerstone of the company's solutions to many other industrial separation problems. The ability to modify the surfaces of polymers, silica (sand) and other substrates is central to addressing the recovery of precious metals and base metals such as nickel, cobalt and copper, along with the removal of toxins such as cyanide, arsenic and mercury throughout the recovery process.
Corporate Vision
The vision of DiaKhem Technologies is to become a key material and systems provider and a global leader in separation materials and processes used across a broad range of mining and industrial remediation opportunities. DiaKhem will work closely with global mine owners, governments and environmental solution providers to employ its full range of capabilities toward resource recovery and environmental remediation.
Solutions for the Mining Industry
DiaKhem provides 21st century eco-friendly solutions to mine owners, including process optimization for existing leaching processes, designing and building new eco-friendly leaching processes targeted at tailing deposits for new and existing mines.
Proven Success
DiaKhem Technology was recently used to remove copper and zinc contaminants from the gold mining process for a major Mexican mining firm, a breakthrough that proved to be instrumental in the company's ability to obtain financing to begin mining.
DiaKhem's Chelation Technology was used to remove radioactive radium from the water residue of a mining process for a Fortune 500 company. The radium level was successfully reduced from 15 pico curries to less than 1 pico currie, well below the acceptable limit of 5 pico curries.
